Our Vineyard

Located in the heart of Temecula’s Wine Country, our estate vineyards encompass 15 acres of rolling hills. The soil composition is sandy loam, and exposure runs NW to SE. The lion’s share of our vines were planted in 2011, and are comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Petite Sirah, and Zinfandel. Additional micro plantings of Cabernet Franc and Semillon were established in 2018. The Patels, winemaker Renato Sais, and our vineyard crew are dedicated to farming sustainably — no pesticides are applied, and the majority of our vineyard operations fall under organic principles.

Akash Patel

Akash Patel, Owner + Director, Akash Winery & Vineyards.

Akash’s enthusiasm and passion for wine, was handed down from his father, Ray. Ray bought a painting many years ago from a local Temecula winery, hung it on the loungeroom wall of their home, where the whole family was able to visualize owning one day, a vineyard and winery of their own. Fast forward to 2010, when Akash and Ray purchased 20 acres of land in Temecula Valley Wine Country and set out to create what is now known as Akash Winery & Vineyards.

For Akash, being “hands-on” is a must. You’ll find him involved in planting new parcels, harvesting grapes, bottling wines, designing labels, serving and/or hosting at the tasting room, social media marketing, forecasting, and business strategy. His approach to wine marketing and sales, driven by his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management Marketing, have been essential in building a thriving, sustainable business.

Akash’s vision, and his dedication, is truly inspiring. He’s been the subject of many interviews, likely because he exemplifies what all business owners should strive to be; dedicated, hardworking, considerate, kind, and helpful — all while thinking strategically. He has been a major influence in Temecula wine country and is the driving force in modernizing the wine tasting experience in the region.

From a 20-acre dirt patch in Temecula Wine Country, to a beautiful vineyard and modern wine tasting room, Akash has worked tirelessly over the last 10 years to turn the vision into a reality. It has not been an easy road to get there, both financially and emotionally, there have been many hurdles. Not one to give up easily, he always knew the Sky was the Limit!
